Staff Opening in Altoona, Pennsylvania

Impact Campus Ministries is seeking to hire a full-time Associate Campus Minister to add to our team in Altoona, Pennsylvania.

Our campus ministries are built on the premise that true success is developing “intimacy with God” (a personal, real, dynamic relationship with God through faith in Jesus). We do this by pursuing it ourselves, modeling it, and purposefully teaching it to university students across the United States. The focus of this job is making sincere connections with students, motivating and inspiring them to pursue their own intimate relationship with Jesus Christ.

Our Impact Altoona ministry focuses on equipping students to minister to others. Students learn to engage in spiritual practices, with an emphasis on prayer and Bible study. We are looking for someone who is willing to model these practices in front of students. The right candidate will also be teachable and ready to try new methods to connect with an ever-changing student population.

This ministry serves students from different denominational backgrounds as well as those with no religious affiliation. We are looking for someone who is outgoing and eager to create a welcoming environment for any student who wants to be involved. The right candidate will be responsible and self-motivated, able to lead some aspects of the ministry on their own under the direction of the Lead Campus Minister.

Altoona was built around the railroad industry, and Penn State Altoona is the only campus in the country with a Railroad Transportation Engineering degree. The school’s most popular degrees are nursing, education, and engineering. Many students transfer to Penn State’s main campus for their last two years, which gives the campus an even more transient culture. Our ministry at Penn State Altoona seeks to engage with students as soon as they arrive, equipping them to pursue their relationship with Jesus.

As part of the fundraising, you will be asked to develop ministry partners from your personal network. In addition, you will be asked to use your unique skills and experience to help the organization meet its overall fundraising goals.
